Mindfulness Practices

1)    Generous Listening. Practice generous listening with someone each day. When in a conversation, place all of your attention on the other person; listen with your ears and heart. Trust that you will know what to say and how to respond when the person finishes.

Reflection Question: How does that shift the experience of the conversation for you? How do you think that experience was for them?

2)    Being Fully Attentive to Your Task. Pick a short task you need to do each day, (e.g. writing an email, picking up your kids, taking out the trash). During the task, practice focusing all of your attention on the task and notice when your attention wanders, gently bringing it back to the task at hand.

Reflection Question: How does this shift the experience of doing each task? Can you find something to be grateful for in doing each task as well as in accomplishing it?
