Thank you for your service

My father, Alvin Strunk, enlisted early before WWII started and taught flying during the war. He valued being of service to his country, his community and to his fellows. He once co-signed on a mortgage for his employee who would not have been able to buy a home without it. His loyalty to others and sense of duty about showing up everyday to do one's best quietly inspired those that knew him. As I celebrate veterans today, I thank you for your service. I thank all of those who have supported you. I also thank my father for all the little things he did - day and day out for his country, for his community, for his employees and for his family. I honor my ancestors - members of our family trees have served in WWII, the Civil War, the American Revolutionary War, English Crown wars, and the Viking expeditions. Thank you!
