Generous Listening Exercise

This is something we all can do everyday, at any time! Practice listening, really listening to the person speaking when in conversation. Place all of your attention on the other person; listen with your ears and heart. When you notice your mind thinking about what your reply is going to be or your mind wandering off, gently bring your attention back to listening. Notice the person's tone, pace, body language ..... take in and hear his or her words listening deeply.  Trust that you will know what to say and how to respond when the person finishes. Repeat this often :)
